THIS WEEK - FIELD TRIP!
Join us this week for a fine lunch prepared by the culinary students at Life's Kitchen!

Life’s Kitchen is dedicated to transforming the lives of young adults by building self-sufficiency and independence through comprehensive food service and life skills training, placement in the food service industry, and continuing education.

1025 S Capitol Blvd, Boise, Id 83706, Boise, ID 83706

Parking can be a challenge, so any carpooling we can do would be good. You could ride your bike, its right near Ann Morrison Park!!

(You should already have let John S. know your menu selection)

TREES NEED WATERING
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, June 23rd, to water the trees we planted at Hyatt Hidden Lakes. We'll join other Rotarians and meet there at 8:00AM. Contact Mary Reiman if you can volunteer.
THREE PAUL HARRIS RECIPIENTS HONORED
Three of our members were honored with their Paul Harris Awards last week, Dan Forcey, Mary Reiman (+3) and Tyson Wise. For the uninitiated, contributions to the Rotary Foundation are accumulated over the Rotarian's career in Rotary. Every time accumulated contributions reach $1,000, the Rotarian is recognized with a Paul Harris Award. It's Rotary's way of recognizing the member's dedication to the work of the Foundation.
BRING ON THE VEGGIES!
Last weekend we filled the recently built garden boxes for the Good Samaritan Home. Now they're ready for the tomato plants! That little skid steer was certainly helpful! the folks from One Stone were also there in force working on other projects.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD TO BE 6/9
Boise Metro Rotary will be having our Changing of the Guard ceremony at River Pointe Park (behind GC Library) on June 9th, 4-7 PM.  More details to follow, but please mark your calendars for a fun fellowship.  Our Club was instrumental in creating the park, and we recently completed a refurbishment of the park's signage and installed a few new benches.  Between our work and the Bee Pollinator group, its a beautiful setting alongside the river.  We'll recognize the outgoing leadership team, and welcome the start of Jeff Dinwiddie's Presidency and his leadership team.

BE SURE TO RSVP TO THE E-VITE YOU RECEIVED A FEW DAYS AGO!!
ZONE HERE IN SEPTEMBER

This year’s  Zone institute will be held in Boise from September 4-9.  The schedule has been released  and can be found here.  http://www.rizones21-27.org/2018-zone-institute-boise/

You will be learning a lot more about Rotary Zones. Since its happening in our District ( a rare occurrence) we will be asked to volunteer in lots of ways to make it a success. Stay tuned............

ODDS 'N ENDS
Happy Memorial Day!..........It was clear that our club was NUMBER ONE at last week's District Conference.....our speaker last week was interesting. Shasta was a Rotary exchange Student 20 years ago in Belgium...amazing the connections and career path that came from that experience.......she may have inadvertently volunteered to host our kid from France.........maybe we should have a Rotary Car Show?....thanks to Jeff D. for hosting this board meeting. He rides his bike to work but he can't get back home.......
