Check out this video link to the details and registration, and share it with your friends! LINK Our First Annual Rotary Fishing Derby will be held May 11th at Eagle Island State Park. Starting at 8:00AM and going till about noon. Lots of features to make this a fun day for the whole family! Food trucks, beer garden, raffles, lots of prizes. If you catch the biggest fish you become eligible for a $10,000 grand prize! Michela is working on a website which will show all the details and allow for on-line registration. This promises to be a major fundraiser for our club. ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR THIS ONE!
Here's how it works: you will be given the opportunity to be a dinner guest, or host, on May 4th. We'll form dinner groups of not more than 3 or 4 couples, to be assigned arbitrarily and secretively. If you volunteer to host, you will be responsible for the entire meal. If you just want to be guest, all you have to do is show up at the designated address. Hosts won't know who is coming and guests won't know where they're going! This will be a blast!!
The sign up sheets will be available at our meeting next week. You may also download the form from the website's "Club Documents" or click here. Due back by April 15th.
Locate your old phones & devices - we can donate them to Phones4Charity who will return cash to us which we can donate to a cause of our choice. Be sure to "clean" them first, to protect your information. If you din't know how, James will do it for you.
"There are over 800 million retired cell phones discarded in drawers, desks, and storages in the United States with over 140 million more entering the waste stream each year. Phones 4 Charity is a national program designed to remove used cell phones from the country's environment while directly benefiting charitable organizations."
Its not too soon to be making plans for attending this years' District Conference May 17-19. This will be the first year EVER that's it to be held in Boise, instead of Sun Valley. That makes it lot more affordable and provides many more activity options. For the complete schedule and registration information, go to https://rotary5400.org/page/celebrate. There's a substantial discount if you register byMarch 31. The District planners are also looking for people to provide "home stays" for our Rotary friends from across the state. Our club will reimburse you for 30% of your registration fee.
Tree Planting days are coming soon! We need to help District 5400 reach its goal of planting one tree for each Rotarian. We made great progress last year! To see which clubs participated check out the map! This years' dates are:
