Our speaker this week will be Jennifer Rockwell, Director of the Ruth Melichar Bird Center. Located on 36th St, just before you get to the Quail Hollow Golf Course, the center is affiliated with AIDA (Animals in Distress Association), focusing on rehab of injured and orphaned birds.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship is sending a delegation from Asia June 19-July 28. Its an opportunity for us to expand our experieinced with people from other cultures. They're looking for homestays and other social events.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Established in 2014, the Fellowship is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2024 and has brought nearly 6,500 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa to the United States for academic and leadership training. The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished innovators and leaders in their communities and countries.

RYLA Camp will be held Friday, July 12th-Monday, July 15th, 2024 at Camp Cascade in Donnelly, ID.

 Applications for incoming high school Juniors through outgoing Seniors will be available under the Students tab on the Application page opens April 1st, 2024 and closes April 15th, 2024. Awardees will be notified between May 1st and May 15th. For more information about our RYLA program, check out What Is RYLA.
It is District 5400's Raffle Time!
The Triple grand Prize is $10,000 of AAA travel to the winner, $5,000 of AAA Travel to the  seller of the winning ticket, if you sell the ticket to yourself that is a total of $15,000 of travel, plus $5,000 to your club. An addition 25% Federal Income Tax withholding will be made in the winner's behalf. 
The Second Prize is a Condo for a week in Mexico  plus $1000 for travel expenses. 
The third Prize is $500 at Best Buy. 
The tickets have been mailed to your club's president elect. He or she should be promoting the raffle within your club. If you haven't been offered to purchase a ticket, please contact your president elect. If you need to, please call Karl Klokke, District 5400 raffle chair at 1-208-412-9411. 
Every club  and Rotarian should promote the raffle and purchase tickets. Try to sell tickets outside of your club. It is the District's number one fundraiser. $4 from each ticket goes back to the selling clubs if they have a representative at the District conference, The raffle supports the Rotary Foundation via our Paul Harris match poiints program and the xpenses of the President Elect Training in Seattle. 
Do your part and purchase a book or more of raffle tickets. Who knows who will win the Triple Grand Prize!

Rotary Minute this week was about a program in the Philipines called "The Hope Is In Your Hands"; placing handwashing stations in schools........Roger enjoyed some NCAA basketball games in Spokane. He saw Yale, "the smartest team on the floor".......Roger has some bags of Ramadan Bonzo beans left - let him know if you want some.............Cornelia won the Connector of the Month - Again!! Come on people, give her some was fun to learn about the Idaho City Yurts.........The Metro River Crew joined up with a group from Idaho Rivers United to clean up the river bank on Saturday.......our first saturday cleanup is no longer necessary, see you May 4th.
