THIS WEEK - Andrea Sorensen from Liiingo

Our program this week will be Andrea Sorensen, CEO of Liiingo. The unique, patent pending approach to facilitate the understanding of on location information for people of all languages. Liiingo is a mobile app that provides an easy way for you to reach many more customers and to provide EVERYONE with a customized experience in their own language, EVERY time! It truly is how everyone understands.

Liiingo is for places of interest that people of multiple languages might frequent. Just some of these locations include a wide variety of tourist attractions, museums, zoos, convention centers and hotels. Leveraging smartphone technology with a physical location, Liiingo delivers complimentary content and media in a visitor’s native tongue related to the venue and interests of each patron.

THE INQUIRING MIND OF MARY REIMAN
Mary Reiman is one of Boise State Radio's most inquisitive listeners. She posed this question to their new podcast called "Wanna Know Idaho" "What's in fire retardant? Are there any long-term effects or consequences after it's applied? How much does it cost?"  Her query was selected! To answer these questions, Frankie Barnhill and Mary took a field trip to the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise. While they were there, they got to tour a 1958 plane converted for firefighting, investigated what pilots do in their off season, and learned what that pink-red retardant is really made of. You can hear the podcast here.

ROTARIANS FROM ALL OVER ATTEND ZONE
Four hundred Rotarians from all over the inter-mountain West gathered in Boise this week for the annual Zone 27-21b Institute. For the uninitiated "Zone" is big deal in the Rotary world and we were honored to be able to host it this year. The Zpne Institute is an annual training program following the three year track of club and district leadership. There were "classes" here for Current District Governors (DG), Past District Governors (PDG), DG-elect (DGE), DG Nominee (DGN), Public Image, Membership, Foundation and Council on Legislation.  All Rotarians were invited and a bunch of us attended the Friday All Club Luncheon.  They closed off the Basque Block for us that evening. There were some great speakers, great meals and the vendor's store. The Boise Center did a great job and to a visitor, they loved Boise!
