BOARD MEETS WITH D.G. JONES TOMORROW
Tomorrow evening we'll have our regular monthly Board of Directors meeting at 5:30 PM at Smoky Mountain Pizza on ParkCenter. In addition to conducting our regular monthly business, we'll talk with District Governor Terry Jones from Emmett Rotary about his challenges for this Rotary year.
THIS WEEK - DG TERRY JONES
Our District Governor, Terry Jones from Emmett Rotary, is required to visit each club in the district in his official capacity. Governors try to get that done by the end of the year. With 43 clubs, that's a lot of miles! He'll have a message from Rotary International and outline the goals for the year. Lets make sure we have a great turnout to welcome the Governor!
GREENBELT PROJECT - PLAN C-a
It occurs to one, when imagining sitting on one of our benches overlooking the river, that you can clearly see the "Trestle Bridge". What's that there for? Good question! So, we're adding that to our history lesson. Not only will be tell about "Government Island", but we'll also tell about the "Trestle Bridge". The existing bridge was built in 1923. That's not the original bridge, but it represents the Rail crossing by the Oregon Short Line Railroad which built a spur from the Depot up on the "bench" down to the railyard on what is now Front Street. In the late 1800s when the Union Pacific was making its way across the country, business people in Boise were upset that they ran the main line up on the hill - too hard to get to!

Spread the word that we have a challenge - a benefactor will contribute $50 for each brick sold to the end of October. Have you bought yours yet? We should be able to complete our fundraising by the end of October! Yea! A lot depends on how well we do at the Telaya Wine event on October 20th.
